Christmas Party and Service Project

Our CC group recently celebrated the birthday of Jesus together by having a Christmas party and then caroling at a local assisted-living facility. It was the sweetest thing ever!

Building Community - Theme Days!

If you're in a Classical Conversations community (or any community, such as co-op, homeschool covering, or what-not), do you have theme days? We're learning that theme days are a great way to build 'community' among the families at our campus!
We just started theme days, and we have one scheduled each month. So far, they're a hit!
For the first one, we encouraged the children to dress as their favorite Biblical or historical character. It was entirely optional, and about half of the kids participated! Take a look!

Let the MNOs Begin!

We're part of a brand new CC campus this year, so I think it's super-duper important to build strong mama-bonds and that sense of 'community.' Enter Moms' Night Outs (MNOs)! Marcie is our fabulously creative MNO Coordinator, and she's come up with a restaurant schedule to take us around the world this year! Our first monthly dinner was at a New Orleans themed hole-in-the-wall, and we had such an amazing time (and the food was as delicious as the company)! Next month it's Thailand!

We also just had our Back-to-School Park Day! This was a great way to let the kids meet each other and play while the mamas (and a dad!) had a chance to catch up.

I am so excited about this new school year! With the monthly MNOs and field trips, as well as our regular weekly CC days, I'm looking forward to building strong bonds with these amazing families!

Classical Conversations isn't difficult, but it can seem challenging when you don't have a strong support system to back you up and encourage you in this journey. Building Community in Your Community

I love doing things with my Classical Conversations community! A special bond is made between mamas who are teaching the same material the same week for 24 weeks. I've learned SO much in our journey with CC, namely the importance of community and the support it provides (because, yeah, I need it!).
