Have you heard of fashionABLE yet? Oh, I'm in love! Check it out:
That's right! When I buy a fashionABLE scarf, I'm supporting African women. I'm not giving them a hand-out; I'm paying for a quality product and helping them stay in business and off the streets.
Dignity, not charity.
(Please know that I have nothing against charity, whatsoever. God loves a cheerful giver! However, when possible, I do think there's a time to teach a man to fish instead of just giving him fish.)
Here's the mission statement from their website;
My husband bought me a scarf recently, and I couldn't be happier with it! It's SO soft!
Attached to my new scarf was a handwritten note from Etanesh - the best part.
I saved her note as a reminder to be more thoughtful in how I spend God's money. I could have purchased a scarf from a major department store; it probably would have been made in China. But by getting a scarf from fashionABLE I was helping a real person, I was helping Etanesh.
"Because of you, I am ABLE to see my son, Abel, grow in character. Thank you, Etanesh."
Dignity, not charity.
And here is Etanesh. Making scarves for fashionABLE has helped her climb out of a life of prostitution. By God's grace, she is ABLE to hope and dream. Please take a minute and read her story by clicking here.
I'm so proud to partner with and share fashionABLE with you, and I hope you'll consider a beautiful, super-soft scarf, hand-made by hard-working African mamas, as a Christmas gift this year! I love mine so much that another scarf is at the top of my wish list!
This post contains affiliate links. When you purchase a scarf through this post, I will get a small percentage. Thank you for your kindness and support!

Here's the mission statement from their website;
The fashionABLE mission is to create sustainable business for Africans so they aren't dependent upon charity, but instead earn the dignity of a job. We offer opportunity to everyone, with a primary focus on empowering women. When we invest in a woman, statistics demonstrate that she will have a life-changing impact on her family and community... and herself.
Through your purchase, you are ABLE to provide opportunity, and a woman is ABLE to have a new choice.
