CC Lesson Plans?!?

Could it really be true?!

Has someone come up with clear and complete lesson plans for CC?!

Oh, yes, friends. It. is. true! And the wonderful lady who tackled this big job is Crecia at CCing it one day at a time. And she is awesome!

If you keep up with CC blogs, this wonderful news is certainly not news to you, but in case someone missed it, I wanted to share Crecia's detailed plans. If you're interested, please take a minute to visit her site by clicking here and checking out the lesson plans for yourself (she describes them better than I can).

Week 13 is complete, and she'll send the plans to you via email if you pass along your address to her in a comment. She's currently working on the remaining weeks, with a few changes to what you see above.

Some of my CC friends have asked me what I'm going to do. Well, that's a good question! Ha! I've looked long and hard at Crecia's plans for Week 13, and I like what I see. I like how she's made it fit into three days. Our CC day is on Tuesday, so we'll do her Day 1 on Wednesday, Day 2 on Thursday, and her final day on Friday. That leaves the weekend free. And then on Monday we'll review and prep for our next CC day.

I also love how she included objectives for different ages/levels. When Mary has learned what she's supposed to for the day, we'll move on to something else. And I especially like how Crecia has added a section of Key Points for each day. She has really taken all the stress out of my lesson planning - because now it's already done!

So, what will I do? Will I keep making and posting my weekly plans (see sidebar)? Hmmm... well, here's what I'm thinking right now: I'm going to do Crecia's lesson plan for Week 13, see how that goes, and add in my Story of the World read alouds that correspond to our memory work. I might add another little activity or two, but with her plans, I won't need to unless I just want to. So, if you can follow my thinking, that's my plan right now. I'll still post my weekly plans, but my planning posts probably won't be as long as they were before. Crecia has come up with a great idea, and I'm not going to reinvent the wheel. She has kids who are 5 and 3, mine are 4 and 2, so we're thinking pretty much on the same wavelength. Now, that doesn't mean her lesson plans are only for littles. If you haven't seen the plans for yourself yet, you really should hop over to her site and check them out.

I can tell you one thing, the hubs is SO happy that I won't be planning as much now. Ha! Don't get me wrong, he's fully onboard with CC, but he sure misses me when I'm busy planning. What a sweet guy! ;)
